I know my g g grandmother was b in 1851 in Carmarthen and her dad was David Davies - her name Eliza Davies. I Know she married in 1871 in Blaina Monmouthshire and by that time her dad was deceased. How do I find out who her siblings and mother were. I know ancestry doesn't have a census listed for 1871 Monmouthshire or 1861. What about 1837 online? Or any other suggestion much appreciated. Many Thanks Tracey Kennedy

Tracey Have you tried LDS/Family Search? Common name will make it difficult to sift through, but worth a try at least. Ian

Tracey Contact the registrar for Camarthen - there's an email address accessible via Genuki , or you can just type in Camarthen Registrar to a search engine. See if they can provide you with Eliza's birth certificate, which will give you her mother's name. Then you can find out from the parish registers when Eliza's parents married and have a rough idea of time span for siblings. Helen

Tracey- I am also looking for a David Davies from Carmarthen, the LDS site lists quite a few if you have any other details about him you could use to narrow it down. Trouble is that there are so many- and they all seem to have fathers, uncles and sons called David Davies aswell, and then mothers, wives and daughters all seem to be called Sarah , for some reason. If you try Carmarthen registry office then will you let me know how you get on- I must admit I am put off trying that route as I can imagine their response when I say'I am looking for details of David Davies from Carmarthen'. Good luck anyway, hope you have more sucess than me with these pesky DD's!!!
