Ive noticed before that people have written in and complained about family names dissapearing off Free BMD. Well I have experienced it myself, I have found family names and when went to check the other day they werent there any more, most frustrating I keyed in the correct info but it just came up not found. What is happening are they deleting them after a while or what? first they are there and then they are not. Freda

I think the person who transcribed the records can choose to delete all their records, I can't think why they or FreeBMD would want to unless they had made huge, irreversable errors on multiple entries.

Don't they have to be double checked? If an entry has been double keyed it means it has been checked so perhaps they have to remove them from the site in order to do this. Any Freebmd transcribers out there who can enlighten us? Jeanette

I have also noticed that rellies sometimes do not appear on the list, but maybe several searches later, they reappear...

I found that the more specific the information you use to search the more confused it seems to get- so I try to put really general info in- perhaps just a name and area, and then plough through the lot rather than miss something.

I thought it was only me or I imagined it. I found someone on freebmd six months ago and thought 'nah thats not him' Now I realise it was but I threw the info out and he is no longer on freebmd and I can't find him on ancestry either. lesson learned now to KEEP everything as it might tie in later on.
