Brackets v Asterisk

Instead of using brackets round the (dot ) why don’t we all start replacing them with the * as someone suggested (forgot who),seems a lot simpler. Though of course we shouldn’t have to do it Bob

Something else funny, GC won't accept the word "dot" in the message! That's why I have put the brackets round it. Strange site!! Bob

which includes *com of course. I use .*co (which means only the * needs deleting and nothing needs adding)

Nudge In addition, why aren't we allowed to put full *com/*co*uk ? It seems silly when we can all post the addresses using *com it would make it so much easier for everyone.....

It's a throwback to when you only had to pay to contact people ... if we could put email addresses in the post then no-one would ever have paid. Now we have to pay to post it strikes me as a tad unnecessary.
