Why have I been unable to find ANYBODY on FREEBMD, even those I have already got certificates for - is it complete?? Cate :-S

Felicity Report 8 Jun 2004 14:47

No, FreeBMD is nowhere near complete yet, though they update it regularly every month. If you look around on the site a little you will find a link to show you how they are doing. There are some big gaps and virtually nothing beyond about 1910. But they're working on it!

Catherine Which area are you looking at? Sarah.

We transcribe by year and surnames in alphabetical order, the districts are all mixed up, so it's not a case of missing out just your area. If writing bad to read, there may be misspellings or just *, hope you find something soon. Val

Hi, I am also very grateful to all the transcibers, I hope I haven't upset anyone by my mutterings! I am just finding it very frustrating at the moment as I seem to be getting no where fast on ANY site. Sorry no offence meant! Cate
