Anne if you have the marriage details you should have the names of bride and grooms fathers. There is a 5 year old William TULLEY living with parents William and Margaret plus siblings Robert and Mary in 1 House 4 Court Liverpool....no street name is given but I'm pretty sure it is Fontenoy Street which is not far from St Joseph's. If you want to order birth certificates, suggest you go to your nearest source to search the birth index for for c1875 and c1879 ...if you find their baptism record, that gives the birth date without paying for the civil birth certificate. PS I see that LancashireBMD have Wm and Sarah's marriage reference with middle initials. FreeBMD has William Michael TULLEY birth registered Liverpool Sept quarter 1875 and Sarah Ann BOSWELL March quarter 1878...there are instructions how to order the certificates on FreeBMD. Also, there is a 3 year old Sarah Ann BOSWELL living with brother William and grandparents Henry 67 and Sarah 60 in Blandford St, Liverpool on 1881 census. A William TULLEY married a Margaret MULDOON in Holy Cross RC church (very close to Fontenoy St) .. I have no date but I can tell you how to order the fiche if you are interested Sue

Hello I have a number of marriage certificates where the couple simply state 'full age'. They are mostly 19th century. Frustratingly, I also have one where the ages are given, but neither of them gave any information about their fathers! So maddening! Pat T

As far as I know, they didn't have to give date of birth, but on the certificates I have ordered it gives an age - of course this does not have to be correct! I think some certificates only state "of full age" (which means 21 or over).

Anne I'm fairly new to all this, so there may be someone who can give you more detailed help, but as a starter if you let me know the names, ages and date of marriage I can get as far as the quarter the birth was registered in. This will enable you to order the birth certificate and get the exact date. Hope this helps, Mandy :)
