Portishead and IGI

Hi Mary and Eileen Thank you for your responses. The problem is I don't have easy access to an LDS centre to order and view the films and I don't live in the UK either so getting to Somerset isn't on the books at the moment (will be one day though). The reason I'm looking for the batch number is so that I can download all the Cary bmd's for Portishead on the IGI online (if there are any!) and build up a spreadsheet. I don't know if they were nonconformist or not (but at a guess, I shouldn't think so). Hope this makes the situation clearer. Any further suggestions would be very welcome as My gg granma is driving me barmy! Carole

Hi Carole, The LDS have two films that you can borrow at a small fee which should help. the first is Film No.1470913 - Items 12 - 13 gives you births, marriages and burials 1607, 1622-1639, 1678, 1750, 1800-1837 The second film is 1526712 Items 1-4. This gives you baptisms 1889-1901, Marriages 1838-1901 and burials 1874-1901. All these come with indexes. copies of these films are also at the Somerset Records Office at Taunton if you can get to see them there. The first film is Bishop's Transcripts and the second film is Parish Records. Mary.

Does anyone know if Portishead is covered on the IGI? I can't find any batch numbers for it on the Hugh Wallis page so was wondering if it came under something else. Thanks Carole
