Joy Thanks for your help. I live in Sale, Cheshire which is just south of Manchester. I have been to the local LDS centre in the past but without a definite address it's not easy to check. Elizabeth did not have a middle name recorded on either of her marriage certificates, her son's birth certificate or the census returns. I have checked all Elizabeth Fords between 1837 and 1839 and there are a lot so I think I will try another branch and come back to this one later. Thanks again and a big thank you to Chris too. Lynne

i have acess to -------- and have just done a 1871 census search for you with no joy but there did not appear to be any records for either liverpool or manchester so they may not be on their records yet. do you live in the north because you may be able to access the census locally. i also looked up name in births deaths and marriage register (if i can find her i can let you know all the details for ordering a birth cert) but gave up as there are 3000+ entries for this name do you have a middle name or any more info I don't envy you this search its much easier with an unusual name you need to be aware not all recorsd have yet been put onto internet databases but it certainly makes searching easier, i began my search over 20 years ago gave up and have just started looking again and there's so much on the net joy

Sorry Lynne I couldn't see Elizabeth or Patrick Ford in either Oldham Road or Rochdale Road. The only Ford I could see in either road was at-- 9,Oldham Road.Jacob Ford, a lodger, Unmarried age 35 ,from Manchester Chris

Chris Thanks very much for looking. Would you mind trying some other addresses for me? 485 Rochdale Road is where Patrick lived when they married in 1862. Elizabeth was living at 349 Oldham Road at the time and when she remarried in 1880 she was living at 548 Rochdale Road. Hope you don't mind me asking. Lynne

I've had a look on freecen and there are no matches for 1871; however, I'm sure there will be someone who subscribes and can have a more in-depth look. Good luck!

Elizabeth Ford is on 1881 census as being born in Liverpool. A kind member did a lookup on 1891 census and that says she was born in Manchester. Does anyone have access to the 1871 census to see where that says she was born please? I have applied for two certificates for her, one Liverpool and one Manchester and both were incorrect. There are far too many Elizabeth Ford's between the years 1837 - 39 to ask for a three year search. In 1871 she was married to Patrick Ford and had a son called Edward and they could have been living at 10 West Stanley Street, Salford. Can anyone help me. I would be eternally grateful. Thanks Lynne
