Waltham Abbey is not listed on the Essex 1861. Have checked the two places Bob mentioned, they're not there either I'm afraid. Sara

Stewart, At the time the Bell Common end of Epping was listed in Theydon Bois and the Hemnal Street side was in Theydon Mount. Maybe you will find them in one of thse two. Bob

Thanks for looking Sara. Maybe they were in Waltham Abbey in 1861 and I just missed them! Is Waltham Abbey included on the Essex census or is it on the Middlesex census (because at that time the registration district for Waltham Abbey was Edmonton) Stew

Have looked through Epping on the 1861, found lots of people with that surname including a George but doesn't look like yours. Sara

I'm looking for George Glasscock and family in 1851 & 1861. they lived in Waltham Abbey from 1871 onwards, but I looked for them in the 1861 census at the Waltham Abbey Library and I couldn't find them. At the time they lived on the Epping Road, so it's possible that was included in Epping in 1861, or maybe they were in Epping. has anyone got access to the 1851 & 1861 census' of Epping? 1861 George Glasscock 41 b.Clavering, Essex Jane Glasscock 40 b.Berden, Essex George Glasscock 15 b.Waltham Abbey (or Epping) Ann Glasscock 10 b.Waltham Abbey (or Epping) Charles Glasscock 3 b.Waltham Abbey (or Epping) Caroline Glasscock 1 b.Waltham Abbey (or Epping) thanks stew
