Hi All, Does any of you know were St Pauls Road in St Pancras was ? My mothers birth certificate says she was born there but I cant find it, mum thinks it was near Caledonian Road. I have searched the net and have looked on The Lost London streets site but no luck. Best regards. Steve Robbins. |

Hallo Steve I don't know where St Paul's Road was. There is still a large St Paul's Road in Canonbury, but I think this would have been in Islington registration district. Your St Paul's may have been near a church, which could have been destroyed. Perhaps it has been totally demolished, or it could have been renamed when the church (if there was one) went. You could give the London Borough of Camden a ring and see if they have an index of renamed streets? Good luck Helen |

Steve Check out this site on a previous thread on this message board. You will find a map dated about 1905 - St Paul's Road is just above the goods depot for Kings X. http://www.yourmapsonline.org.uk/London_b.jpg Helen |

Hi Stephen St Pauls Road is in Canonbury, Highbury not far from the Arsenal. It is Islington. Caledonian Road doesn't run into it, but is about half a mile away, don't know how St Pancras comes into it though, it's not that near. Have you an address to where your Mum was born? I used to live off the Caledonian Road, or the Cally as it's known. Just re read some of the comments, and if there was a St Pauls Road in York Way, then that runs into Caledonian road, so this is where your Mum must have been born. Lynda |

The best place I find is the motco(.)com site where there is an excellent road index, leading to easy to read maps. |
