Neither my Father-in-law (or his siblings) had their births regsitered but I do know his d.o.b. to be 1/2/1906. I know from his Marriage Certificate that he lived in Penwith Road, Southfields in 1932 and that his Father was a Edward Herbert Marshall but without a Birth Certificate I have no idea of his Mother's name. Could anyone suggest suitable lines of research if I went to Wandsworth Local History Service at Battersea. Obviously the 1901 Census would be of no use. Kind regards, Joan

hi Joan, I think you need to find BDM results for the father, try freebdm and put in say 1880 +/- 20 all types to establish birth/ marriage then work forward good luck Dave
