hi sue just had the same problem my dad was married 1909 and his wife died 1936,i have 2 half sisters that were born1910 the other about 1915.what i am trying to say its very expensive on 1837 online but start with the marriage first, and send for certtificate then work your way through 1837 again.when you find one of your nans rellies you will be chuffed to bits, because i found my half sisters on 1837 now i cant wait for certificates to pop through my letter box,go for it it is so rewarding. I was very lucky cos my dad told me when i was 10 yrs old that i had 2 half sisters and to look for them someday but may have left this too late. good luck with your research sue

Sue Get a piece of paper. Write down all the names and dates you know in a rough family tree. That will help clear your thoughts. Concentrate on what you do know. You want to find three children born between certain dates, and you know their mother's name and their father's surname. Now, you can do one of three things a] go on www.1837online.com and pay to check out the GRO records - could be expensive. b] visit Family Records Centre and check out the GRO records c] find your nearest large library/LDS centre and check out GRO records You can then request birth certs from the GRO, asking them to check parents' names first to check they are the right ones. It would help if you could narrow down geographically where they were - I'd be inclined to find Jessie's marriage cert if poss. PS Please don't send messages in capitals - on the internet its considerered as shouting. Please let us know if we can be of further help. Helen
