I now have LDS PAF5. Someone has offered to send me a Gedcom file with part of hubbies family tree on it. Whats the best way to import as LDS say don't do it by e.mail ! Something about overloading the hard drive ?? Sue, computor dunce in Sussex. |

Hi, Sue, unless you have an unusually small hard drive - and I bet you don't - save your gedcom file from your e-mail into some folder you recognize. Make a new folder if need be, something like 'downloads' on your desktop. Get the e-mail, and save the file in the folder. Open PAF, click on 'file' (top left), click on import in the drop-down menu. You'll get a message about importing to existing file, click 'OK'. You'll see a panel where you can navigate to your new folder and file, click on it and save as... and you're up and running. Hope this helps. Michael (in Dundas) |
