There's another site for Australian shipping 1788-1968 This site contains shipping and passenger information for Australia and, to a lesser extent, New Zealand. As well as arrival and departure details, where possible, background information is also provided. It's http://www.blaxland(.)com/ozships/ Hope it helps Christine

Naomi Qute by chance I was just looking through the May copy of Family History Monthly, and it mentions a new online database which gives details of the 10,000 convicts transported to Western australia 1850-1868. It gives the offence, sentence, where sentenced, family status & literacy. It's www(.)freemantleprison(.)com. Helen.

Yes Helen, that's what I meant. Comvicted criminals that were sent to Australia etc. I'll have a look at the Kew website. Naomi

Do you mean convicted criminals? Extradition is what a country does to have a person returned to face charges. Kew keeps various records on convicts, check on their website www(.)pro(.)gov(.)uk/pathways/familyhistory/gallery5/prisoners(.)htm, remove brackets first. Helen
