yes that was his brother and I did eventually sort Abraham out even got his death cert just don't know where the eck he is buried LOL so he is still giving me problems LOL.But at least he has given me and my daughter a new hobby, potting as he was a potter's son and both of us love trying to make things on our potters wheels. |

thanks a lot everyone Elizabeyh is no problem I have tracked her birth to death including 2 marriages, It is Abraham and Charles that are the problem. I think the Charles in Preston could possibly be Abrahams brother but again I can't make any connections. and to think I started this because I thought Shufflebottom should be an easy name to find!!! found these i think abraham was probably working away he is at 62 high street preston and elizabeth is at her parents james barnes and isabella barnes at 2 railway bank, farington lancs with children charles and james yvonne |

Hi Dedrah I found this on 1891 census it may be of interest: living at 27 Doncaster Rd Preston Charles Shufflebottom 48 Earthenware Dealer b Horton ,Staffs Martha 51 Wife b Stockport William 22 Ass Earthenware Dealer bPreston Martha 15 Mantle maker Assistant b Preston Lily 14 Gen Dom Servant b Preston Fred 11 b Preston May be a relative??? Please can anyone help . my great grandad Abraham married Elizabeth Anne Barnes in1870 on 15th December at St Pauls Church in Farington Lancashire is age was given as 21 on marriage cert. and his address as 48 North Road Preston occupation as earthenware dealer and Father as Charles Shufflebottom and these are the only facts!!! I have got .An Abram appears on 1881 census as alodger at a house in Preston when his birth place was given as Skerton and his trade as a hawker so I suppose it could be the same person but thats It I can't find birth or death certificates for him or Charles and no marriage forCharles. I don't know what to do next . PLEASE can anyone help me Thanks a lot Dedrah |
