Hi Melvyn I remember looking for this record - apparently back on 28 December 2003. I did find a Henry Chippindale, but not the one married to Mary Ann Martin. At the time I was puzzled, as you were looking for a marriage prior to the birth of a child in 1853, but were convinced that the Henry you were looking for was born about 1835, and Christened in 1839-1840. I did wonder how you could be sure of the birth and Christening years, although I didn't ask at the time. The spelling change is nothing unusual, though - I've had much worse. If you got it from a census, remember that the census-taker would spell as he thought fit. If he had bothered to ask, there may well have been no-one in the house other than a child who could spell, or indeed write at all. The transcribers for the census indexes could also get it wrong too. Best wishes Stan

Hi Melvyn, I found that marriage for you on 1837 online, sent you the original document by email, it was CHIPPINDALE not CHIPPENDALE, I still have it. I'm not sure what you're asking here though? Are you asking for a Henry Chipp"E"ndale marriage now? Sam

Melvyn Do you want this looking up on 1837 as I have some credits? If so, do you have an approximate date, or at least a year! Let me know. Mandy

I wonder if somebody came help me I have just started going through my tree to see if any new leads and to my horror i discovered something quite bad. I have been researching the CHIPPENDALE family tree for about 18 months and i have bought a couple of certs and they have been very useful but looking back over them last night i discovered that the name on was CHIPPINDALE on all the ones that i had bought and on the 1837 website. So could some one please look up a marriage of a Henry Chippindale and Mary Ann Martin in Lancashire. Thanks in advance.
