I keep on getting a pop-up message from Messenger Service Microsoft Security Bulleton MS03-043 which tells me my computer is infected and to go to www.windowspatch(.)info - is this a scam or is it for real? Thanks, Christine

Not sure... but go to Google, and type in 'Stinger'. The page you want should be the first one in the list. Download Stinger and then run it... it will get rid of any nasties that you've picked up.

There is a critical update at the Microsoft Windows Update site....if you are in doubt if the pop up is legitimate go directly to the Microsoft site and download the update. Bulletin MS03-043 is a legitimate CRITICAL update....but not all the pop ups you may be getting on your PC are. See the thread "1 STOP ROUTINE PC MAINTENANCE" for step by step directions on how to use the site if your not familiar with it. If you don't already have a program to remove spyware you can find directions info and directions for Adaware, an excellent free one, under the same thread as the one mentioned above. Adaware is a spyware remover....which when spyware is left to accumulate on your PC, can cause all kinds of problems down the road. Judy :)
