Hi I'd love to know if anyone else is researching the villages where my 'olds" originated as I have collected quite a bit of info. Can I search this site by village or do I have to input names separately? They won't be in my family tree. Thanks Marlene

Do a "quick search" (top right), then at the bottom of your results page there is a place where you can put in the birthplace for your search.

Marlene, The trouble with that is that we do not have a standardised address book. Some of mine I have had full addresses, so I could enter,for example, Worton, Wensleydale, Yorks. Some from Parish Registers could be Askrigg, Wensleydale, Yorks. Some unspecified could be Wensleydale, Yorks. and some of course could be just Yorks. And they could all be members of the same family. Then another member could enter exactly the same family without the "Wensleydale" and I may not find them. Have you tried {ancestral-villages(,)com}? Hi Guys Thanks . I'll play with the Quick search. Yes Grampa Jim I have done my thing with Ancestral villages. Doesn't it drive you nuts about the lack of standardisation Birmingham/Aston/Small Heath/Aston Manor etc and then people can't spell????????????? Heaps of swear words later I'll go to bed before the gasket blows! Thanks again Marlene in NZ
