Finding siblings

Is there an easy way of finding out if grandparents/great grand parents had siblings. For instance I know my grandfathers name, and the names of his parents, he was the oldest child born in 1898, no siblings on the 1901 census, how do I find out if he had brothers and sisters ? Sorry this is probably a silly question !

Hi Jeanette 1898 is a bit late for the IGI, but look at what I have said on Deb in Northants thread regarding the family search site, if you can get a bit further back, this might help you. Lisa xx

Hi Jeanette No not a silly question, I don't think there is an easy way of finding them between 1900 and 1913 unless they had an unusual name. If you know where they lived you might find them in parish registers if they were christened. Heather
