The best place to try for Irish Records is a local LDS centre. They filme Irish BMD indexes as long ago as the 1950's. You will not find in Public Record Offices on the mainland. The Public Record Office in Belfast holds a copy of the indexes as well. The General Record Office in Belfast can be expensive if you ask for an assisted search, so be sure of your dates as possible if you go down that road. Paul

Cheryl I'm in the process of trying my Irish birth father. Because I was adopted, I've gone through the national adoption organisation called Norcap and they have a recommended researcher in Ireland. I'm not sure if I can mention it on the website, because I only have their email address, but if you're interested, drop me an email and I'll mail it back to you.

hi there all ..can anyone give me an idea of where i can get to search irish details., can i go to a local library ?? do they have the irish records on microfish the same as the english ones ...Cheryl
