"Psoas abscesses develop from infection of unknown origin (primary/spontaneous) or as a consequence of infection spreading from an adjacent organ (secondary)." Got above info from www[.]edu[.]rcsed[.]ac[.]uk/case%20Presentations/CP7[.]htm BUT then I put my librarian's hat on, and my trust in pre-computer reference tools and consulted my dictionary, which states "psoas, n. either of the two muscles of the loins that aid in flexing and rotating the thigh" So now we know! As my brother would say, we may not be wiser, but we are much better informed!
