Hi Christine, Don't worry about LDS year of birth. They work out year of birth by taking age on census away from 1881 which is only correct for those who had already had their 1881 birthday before census day. Judith

thanks shelli, she was born 25th may, so could well be her! i got her marriege cert few weeks ago,had an idea it would be her but i sent for it on the chance it was, and i was right! chris.

Provided it is a not too common name go with free bmd.These are the indexes for each quarter year so the June one would cover april & may.Please do check though.My families tend to have named all their children the same i.e.William has 2 sons William & Thomas,William has two sons THomas William and William Thomas and as for the number of related James,John,George and Alfred's it really doesn't bear thinking about! Ask someone on the records board to do a look up on 1881 CDs for you. Good luck

christine, the way freebmd works and in fact all registers is that they are divided in quarters. The quarters are March, June, September and December. So a birth occuring in may would be registered in the june quarter. Also be careful always and check the quarter after as well as if a birth was towards the end of one quarter it may be registered in the next quarter Shelli

i think i have found my g.grans birth cert.on freebmd, trouble is it says she was born in June,i have her born May! on lds i found her aged 6 born 1875,i have 1874 which is on bmd to! before i send for the cert,could anyone advise please, could they have got the month wrong when it was registered or would they have gone by the month it was registered! chris.
