I know the Kings Norton Parish registers are in the Birmingham library but can't get up there just yet. But...does anyone know anything about the IGI batch numbers for them? The Hugh Wallis site gives only one section...there must be more surely. Grateful for any help. Joan

I've just looked on www.old-maps.*co.uk (remove *) and it shows that Kings Norton was just a village, probably with just one church (St Nicholas). Tip: If you want to look at the map, Kings Norton doesn't show up on the search - enter "Lifford", then click southwards from there.

Thanks Geoff, I didn't know the name of the church. Those must be the records on B'ham library. Perhaps as it's so small the parish registers are included with some other parish on the IGI. Joan

Hi Joan Kings Norton used to come under Worcestershire which is why there are not many churcherecords up B'ham library. The only one I know of that is specifically Kings Norton is St Nicholas but my grandad was born in Kings Norton but baptised at St Pauls, Balsall Heath which was very close by. There is also St Barnabas which is close as well. I am going to B'ham next Thursday so if you can give me a name and date I will have a look at the 3 churches that I know my Kings Norton family used as well as St Nicholas. Karen
