Depends where it was, if it was a town there should be a directory for it. I would suggest contacting the local records office - of course the address may not exist now. Other records you could find: wills, military records, professional records [if ancestor had a professional job], electoral rolls [good for checking who lived at an address - the British Library keep them]. Do you have any informal info - a family box with old letters to trawl through, confirmation certificates, school reports, rent books etc. Happy hunting Helen. |

Apart from the National Register, Parish Records and census returns are there any more records I could use to trace the origins of family members? Are the any records for tracing who was living at a certain at address in 1906? I would be very grateful for any advice anyone could give me. |
