Depends where it was, if it was a town there should be a directory for it. I would suggest contacting the local records office - of course the address may not exist now. Other records you could find: wills, military records, professional records [if ancestor had a professional job], electoral rolls [good for checking who lived at an address - the British Library keep them]. Do you have any informal info - a family box with old letters to trawl through, confirmation certificates, school reports, rent books etc. Happy hunting Helen.

Apart from the National Register, Parish Records and census returns are there any more records I could use to trace the origins of family members? Are the any records for tracing who was living at a certain at address in 1906? I would be very grateful for any advice anyone could give me.
