A Kno by any other name...

Hi guys. I have a Kno Stoddart listed on IGI in my family, born in 1821. At first I asked others on this site and they reckoned it was a mistransciption of Jno ie John. I thought this was quite likely myself. However, I have been given a reference for this family from BIVRI and on this he is again registered as Kno Stoddart. Surely it cant be a mistranscription in two independent sources. Any ideas what Kno could be or suggestions as to how I can find out. I cant find any references to a Kno Stoddart other than these. BIVRI and IGI are not independent sources (both Latter Day Saints). I would still suspect a mistrancription of a single record - as I said the first time, J is next to K on the jeyboard.

Ahh!! I didnt know the two were connected. In that case it makes sense. I will continue to work on the premise thats its John. Thanks for putting me straight on this one Geoff - I appreciate it! Lindsey
