birth certificates??

Amanda, the only detail you need is the General Register Office (GRO) index number for the certificate and the name of the person as it appears in the GRO list. You can find them in a number of places, both free and paying. Look at the resources centre (on the left) and it will guide you. Each certificate costs £7 if ordered on line with the index number. It is usually best NOT to add other details, even if you are sure because they might differ slightly from those on the certificate and then they won't send it and you waste £3 (they refund £4) Anne |

hi this is probably an easy one to answer but how do i go about getting a birth certificate of my great grandad,what info do i need,and how much is it??also i need the death certificte too.thanks amanda |
