Help needed, please ! I am trying to find my grandparent's marriage cert. on 1837online. I worked back from 1913 to 1912, looking for MOORE marrying COLEMAN and then at 1911 I noticed that the "person married" wasn't appearing anymore, either for MOORE or for COLEMAN !!!! I tried 1910 and they weren't there either !!! In 1837online it says: "An index of marriages contain records of the both the bride’s and groom’s first and last names, the district where the happy event occurred, and the volume and page numbers that you need to obtain a copy in the same way you would for births." So what happenned to "person married" Did they appear/disapper for a known period, and if so, which period does it cover ??? Does this mean I have to pay to look up all the COLEMANs and then pay to look up all the MOOREs and then match up the indexes ???

I have never looked for marriages in the 1900 so didn't know they told you the person married to, but the older ones I have looked for never say who they married and so yes , you do have to go to both names and find a match - sorry.

Thanks, Christine ! Looks like I will have to save a few more pennies then ... Ans, as it says in the classics, "Oh, s**t !"
