I have got a copy of my grt grandparents mariage certificate Charles Walton and Margaret Stewart. On it charles has his father down as George Walton and Mother Mary Calashaw. I know Charles was born in England and my Family seem to think he changed his last name because his father through him out and disowned him.I can't find the name Calashaw anywhere I've tried looking for Culshaw & calshaw but can't get anything to match up. Could the whole certificate be a complete fabrication? Has anyone any ideas!

Lesley, What about Callishaw, Collishaw, Cowlishaw? Where and when would this have been? Crista
