Hi how is it i can't find people after the 1881 census, would understand it if they had died but can't even find deaths for them any ideas please Margaret

Margaret 1. Could have been on holiday out of England 2. Could have just missed it anyway (travelling or something) 3. Could have emigrated 4. Name could have been completely mis-transcribed I'm sure someone will add some more Gaynor

Try every variation of the surname you can.I found my ggrandmother in 1901 under the surname Marsee instead of Macaree.If you are looking for them on 1901 it is helpful if you have a distinctive first name as without myggrandmother being named Cordelia it would have been really difficult.

Margaret Where can't you find them? FreeBMD is not 100% yet so you need to check deaths on 1837online or in GRO index books. As for the census, don't get me started on finding people in that! Have you tried permutations of names in spelling, or searching with/without birthplace/surname/DOB? The truth is out there!
