Janet, you are spot on, today i tried updating to AOL 9. and it appears that i have to reset my norton, (2002)but updated, because it is blocking AOL 9, so i am sticking with aol 8..... |

If you use "aol" as your service provider be very careful in updating Norton Firewall to 04. We have just updated and it does not work properly and perusing the small print specifically tells you that aol and Norton conflict. Janet |

Jeanette I use Live Update - and would certainly recommend it. It costs no extra. Yesterday, I had 2 Live Updates!! |

You don't have to pay for the automatic updates. You pay for 1 year's protection when you buy it and can renew online when the year is up. Letting the system update automatically is much safer than trying to remember to do it yourself on a regular basis. |

That sounds good Bob. Do you have to pay for the automatic updates? Sorry to ask so many questions but I like to know these things! Jeanette |

Jeanette, there are many options with Norton, one of them being " automatic live update" set up properly, it does it for you...an icon appears next to clock, that looks like a little telly with an aerial on top, while it is updating.....Bob |

If you use Norton please make sure it is updated regularly. My partner has recently fixed three computers for friends because they had got trojans as their nortons hadn't been updated. |

Jeanette Visit the website www(.)symantec(.)co(.)uk (remove the brackets!) You can then see all the various products and can purchase them online if you want to. I recommend Norton Internet Security 2004, which gives you the Firewall and the Anti-Virus, together with Pop-up blockers and loads of other things.......!! I've had NIS for 2 years, and would thoroughly recommend it! It looks as if it is £54.99, but when you come to upgrade after 12 months, it's much cheaper. Janet |

I got mine a couple of months ago from smiths. I got the Norton internet security which has firewall, anti spam, antivirus, privacy control & parental control. It cost me £40. but I think it normally goes for about fifty quid. Not sure on how much just the antivirus is. I think it costs a lot more if you buy it all seperatly. My firewall has just stopped another Trojan Horse ! Brilliant ! Elaine x |
