Hello I do attempt to reply to everyone who contacts me, but am increasingly frustrated by having my repky enails bounced back to me - particularly by AOL and Hotmail. I have tried then to email direct but even this is sometimes bounced back. So if anyone has tried to contact me and hasn't had a reply, please try again. (my 31/2 yr old son has been known to delete the odd message too). I'd like to say thanks to everyone who has replied - especially all my new cousins - who have been so happy to share their hard work. Happy hunting everyone. Debs

Ok, I'll give my last attempted contact the benefit of the doubt, I'll send another message & include my email address. I hope I get a reply to this one, it's a newly added name and I'm 95% sure it's my grandfathers sister. Fingers crossed ;)

I have just received two undelivered responses to e-mails I sent a couple of days ago. They were unrelated to this site but it seems that if you have a hot.mail account and don't pick up within a day or so the e-mail will bounce.Of course,as we are sending through a third party here the undeliverable message would go to GC.I personally couldn't understand why someone would sign up if they didn't want any contact.

Hi Everyone I have contacted guite a few over the last few weeks and not one reply one of the names was most uncommon and I was sure there must be a connection will give it a few more days and then contact again with my email address, a no would suffice Margaret

I have only contacted one person - first at the end of March but no reply and then again yesterday. This time giving my e-mail address in case that was the problem. She replied immediately and said she hadn't received my first message at all. So perhaps there is some kind of technical hitch. Another possibility is that people have change e-mail addresses - this has happened to me on RootsWeb. Problem with GC is that you don't get a return mail if your mail is undeliverable. So it could be worth repeating the contact.

Perhaps there could be some thing set up that says if people do not want to be approached. It would save me climbing 2 lots of stairs every 5 mins to check my e mails.

Hi Paula, I posted a message re this last week. I wonder why some people bother to join. To date about 80% have failed to respond. One whom I prompted after 4 days was most rude and told me that she had been away and where was not my business ??. She then refused the offer of 300 years of hard won research that definately was her line (and mine) There are some funny peoplr out there (and plain rude)

I have been a member since the begining of GC and when anyone has contacted me about my tree I reply whether or not I can help them. What upsets me is when i contact people lately the number of people who do not reply. Surely the main aim of this site is to help each other and if all that people do is take then surely that is not fair. Paula
