Hi does anyone know if all death records were recorded because I have looked for several and found not one of them thanking you. Margaret

Margaret, Burials/cremations would not be allowed without a death certificate so the registration should be in GRO indexes, unless of course they didn't die in England and Wales. Judith

Hi Margaret The Ancestry records are copied from the FreeBMD records, which, as you probably know, are some way from being completely transcribed as yet. 1837online has the whole national index, so it is essentially complete apart from those few returns which local offices failed to send in, or which got lost on the way. Margaret If you go to the FreeBMD site, they have graphs showing what percentage of deaths they have online year by year. You may find your relies died in one of their low percentage years. Alternatively, they may be mistranscribed or recorded, or didn't die where you thought they did. I discovered recently that my gt grandad buried in Limpenhoe didn't die there, although it had been his home for nearly 50 years, but in North London, which is where his death was registered. Happy hunting!
