Any idea if these names are for real? They are on the 1881 census as my grandfathers brothers - shame and he was just plain Robert!

How strange!! My g-grandfather had the honour of Walter Lewis Francis Lancelot , his sister Helen Gertrude Lillian Ivy May, his brother Kitchener Walter!! I can honestly say I have never heard your names before, other than Murfit as a surname. Mind you imagine what they'll think in 100 years time when they're confonted with a load of Brooklyn and Romeos!!

Hi, Stirsiker is a fairly common surname in Lancashire. Often in the late 1880's surnames were used as middle names - sometimes a clue to th family genealogy. It was also a practice in Scatland. Regards Rosemarie
