Anyone who has these surnames, please can I view your tree. Am desperately trying to trace my ancestors and am hoping other trees may be able to help? ...

Sorry, no Koskis, but some of my "foreign" ancestors changed their names, on moving. Perhaps you should also keep an eye out for Cos...-Variations, which would sound more english ??

Another idea: I have a colleague here called Kowski, pronounced koff-skee. If your ancestors were originally from Germany/Poland, then some may have dropped the 'W' because the english would say it as cow-skee !

Hi Margaret, in Kent I used to know a family called Kuske. You could check out that variant, too!

My aunt is currently researching a possible connection in Germany/Poland (Poland and Germany had many skirmishes and some wars. During these times Poland and Germany were occupied by whatever political power had won the fight)on the names Kimenkowski and Kimenheimcoski - we know by great grandfather changed his surname to Cosky upon arriving in the US....we're just not sure what he changed it from!
