There is no central registry in France.I also have french relatives and it is a nightmare.Firstly check the IGI.If you have no joy there then you need to know which departement of France your relative was born in.Once you have that established you then need to write to the local registry.I can't remember the exact details but there is a website that gives all the addresses,charges and requirements etc.I'm sure someone on here will know the address as I can't find it at the moment.(Its in the back of a book I got from the FRC a couple of years ago.THe name of which escapes me!) Hello Margaret. One of my ancestors was born in Italy, and I luckily found an entry on the IGI. However, I have been told that there are records of overseas births at the FRC in Myddleton Street, London. Sadly, I haven't been able to get there yet to check.
