Hi Gwyneth, you might find this website of some use. http://lemko(.)org/genealogy/addresses(.)html Remove brackets!! It is addresses of Ukraine and Polish Archives. Sue

Thanks for that Bob, I'll take a look. We have been told, - in a general way,- that many records were destroyed in the war and others have said that churches hold alot of records, - think these people were Catholic. ..As non-Polish speakers with little to go on, this is going to be difficult I can see!

Hi Gwyneth, I have been contributing to "German searches" and "Jewish Ancestry Searches" on the "General Topics" Board. I have included various european websites, including some with polish data. They may not be of immediate use to you as the data is mainly german or jewish and for earlier dates, but you might be able to pick up some tips about useful websites and "how to ..." there Good Luck ! Bob p.s. this particular link could be useful: http://members(.)core(.)com/%7Emikerose/genealog.html It is a list of links to other sites, including some polish ones.

Does anyone know how we can research back records in Poland? We have marriage and death (1982) certificates as these events were in England where the people settled, but death certificate just gives birthdate ( full date,1922 )and Poland as place of birth.... We thought of naturalisation papers but there has been no luck there.... Any help would be welcome.
