Nudge. Did you see this Rachel? I think they could be your family. I was unable to find them on the 1871 and 1891 census on Ancestry. Maybe someone else can have a go.

Thanks for checking, I don't think this is the one as he was born in Birch Hill and married Ann Vigor. Any idea how to start searching London censuses with only a name?

I am trying to find the birth, marriage or early census entries for a Joseph NAISH born c1839 in Berkshire. As I cannot find him on any Berkshire censuses, I suspect he may have moved to London early in life (he appears there in 1901 in Chelsea). My question is - how can I find him if all I have is a rough DOB and birth place, and also the name of one of his siblings? (elder sister Jane). The earliest record of him I have is on his son's birth certificate in 1868. Any tips? Rachel
