Thanks to a fellow GC member I found several of my ancestors burial details. But one is puzzling me... The record states.. Violet Constance Scammell Aged 5mths, buried 28/8/1917. Now I am unsure if this is mine or not so thought I'd check out the birth, which at that time would give the mother's maiden name. So i thought i could work it from there but having searched from JAS 1916 right thru to JAS 1917 i can't find it???? So i thought thats weird and checked for the death entry i checked JAS and OND 1917 theres no record of the death either???? ANY IDEAS?????? Shelli

Hi there, It does not matter when the death took place, there has to be a death certificate. The child would not have been buried without one. Try a different spelling of the name. If you know where the child was buried, then contact the cemetery giving the date of death and they will look it up in their records. I feel sure that they would have the parents name. Mary
