I am not sure that the records are held in Winchester, they could well be held in Portsmouth. ann Glos

I think that the parish records you need are held at Hampshire Record Office in Winchester. Maybe a posting on the Records board with a lookup request may help.

Marriages don't have the parents names on that didn't start until 1837. You will get 2 witnesses so its possible one may be a relative. Irene

Diane If you put into your 'google' search Hamshire 1841 Census. There is a site on there. Good Luck!! Sarah.

can anyone tell me if there are any sites that holds records for gosport hampshire as i have a brickwall with my joseph stark that i believe was born 1806 gosport and really need to access parish registers or 1841 census to check out possible parents, or does anyone know anyone who is based in that area that would be willing to look up locally? thanks Di
