Where do I find the 1851 census details ? Also does it make sense to you that having the middle name of Taylor probably means that the mothers maiden name was taylor ?

Hi!. I think I would assume they are different to start with, and look for birth records on the IGI. Also, have you tried looking on an 1851 census...someone on GC will probably help you with that.Good hunting. Joan

Felt really excited earlier when I found my great great great great grandfather living with his daughter and her husband on the 1881 census. His name is listed as James Jordan aged 70 living in Eastry, also found a death record which fits also in eastry in 1900, again listed under James Jordan. Then whilst looking for his daughters birth record at freebmd I found her in Eastry (as it said on the census) with a middle name of Taylor (sarah taylor jordan) found her marriage record to William Beer. Put two and two together and decided to look for a marriage in Eastry between a Taylor (this being Sarahs mum) and a Jordan but instead I found a Sarah Taylor marrying a James Jordan King at around the right time. Checked death records for James Jordan King in eastry and found one for 1888 with him aged 68 which would mean the census age was completely wrong - I'm very confused now, could James Jordan and james Jordan King be the same person - if so where did the king bit go ? Any ideas anyone, I'm not very good at this yet.
