Member Since: August 2003 Posts: 51 Send Message	I have just discovered that a couple of my relatives served with the Manchester Regiment in WWI. I have their regimental numbers, but how do I go about finding out more information? Any advice much appreciated. Kate

	I believe some of the people I am looking for may have served in WWI. Is there any way I can verify this without service numbers?

Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 873 Send Message	Try the CWGC site re deaths. Army records for WW1 were destroyed by fire in WW2 but about 40% survived so it is pot luck if yours have survived. Kew hold these records and I think Procat are still putting medals on there.. Hope this makes sense

	The National Archives are in the process of putting the medal index cards on the web. They are certainly up to the letter H, probably further by now. I only had a vague idea of my grandfather's regiment, but I managed to find his record. It is well worth a look - there is a link through the Resource Centre feature in the column to the left.
