Yes it's usually Matilda, but there might be some other variations

I knew someone whose daughter was called Tilly but her registered name was something like Tillison.

just to complicate things, back in the 60's I was called Tilly by one part of family and their daughter was little tilly havent a clue why they still call me big till and their sister/daughter little till and my name is Sandra!!!!!!!!
