1851 census online?

Can anyone tell me whether the 1851 census for the whole of England and Wales is online or will be in the near future. Thanks.

No. No. There are bits and pieces around, it depends where you want.

The best hope is freecen but that's a while off. Many are transcribing their own patch so if you type "1851 census +(your area)" for example into google you may strike gold Bob

Hello Sarah, You can purchase the whole census. Only pockets are online, freecen, familyhistoryonline and kindredkonnections are some of the sites where its available to view. Theyre not all free. I think you can also buy credits to view at S&N genealogy supplies. The Gloucestershire census is extensively covered free online, it doesn't give the full address tho. Worth having a look at incase the area you are searching is one of the areas covered. Diane NSW Australia
