ThANKS FOR THE REPLIES..HERE GOES Joseph Stanley Payne was living 36 Harlow St. in Toxteth Park (1891 census) aged 38 therefore born 1853 in Barbados. His wife was Sarah Ann (Mansfield) born 1863. Children Albert born 1885 (think he became officer in St. Johns Ambulance brigade in L'pool but drawn a blank with them).Joseph born 1886. Caroline (my grandma)born 1887.Elizabeth born 1889, Wiiliam born 1901 and George Henry born 1893 no wonder great grandpa was dead before the marriage of Caroline in 1913..he must have been worn out! he was a seaman by the way! And thats me stuck! Oh another quandry is that 1901 census has turned up Sarah Ann Payne and son George Henry living at 36 Harlow St with a boarder Cornelius somebody..also a seaman! The mind boggles! So any info before this on any here'shopingone of the mentioned would be great especially if l could get info on Joseph Stanley's Barbados history.

Have you had a peep on the "Moving Here" site which covers immigration and emigration?

Hi Pat, To try and get info on your ggrandfather born in Barbados, you could try the LDS site which covers areas all over the world. www.familysearch(.)org - Remove bracket when typing into your google site. I agree, names and years would help others to help you. Margaret
