Thanks for the advice everyone - I thought Scotland may well have been seperate but wasnt sure so its nice to have it confirmed. I will definatly have a look at the sites recommended. Most of my hubbies family is Scottish so it will prove very useful for him too. Lynne - would be fab to have a novice buddy and help each other through!! Sometimes everyone on this site seems to know so much more about genealogy that I feel a bit stupid!! If there is anything I can perhaps assist you with please feel free to drop me a line. I live in Yorkshire so Im sure I could help with any Yorkshire rellies you have!! Thanks again to all Lindsey

Try family search first Lindsay. All my rellies are Scottish and some of them are on there. The scotland's people site is good but my credits don't seem to go far enough! I could easily spend an absolute fortune. Good luck with your search. I am a novice too so maybe we can help each other as we go along! Lynne

Scotland has it's own Census, Registry Offices, etc. That's why you didn't find them on the UK-Census, which is only England and Wales. I fell into that one, too ! Good Hunting ! Bob

Probably a really dumb question but hey, Im a novice! Is Scotland included on census records. I have some Scottish relatives and cant seem to find them so wondered if its just because they didnt complete the census or because Scotland isnt included in it. Advice appreciated
