dear Julie the 1901 is not a free site, it is a pay as you go, with a minimum charge of £5. So tread carefully shirley

Hope you've found it. My tip would be to think carefully about how your names would be spelt or decoded from florid writing. I have found nearly all the relatives I wanted, BUT nearly all of them have been mistranscribed, so to track them down I had to do some detective work, search on 1st name only etc. For example Surname Smoothy transcribed as Lenorthey Surname Matthews transcribed as Maththews First name Jeuel transcribed as Denel [!] First name Charity transcribed as Chanty First name Lemuel transcribed as Leonard You can send corrections into the site and they are amended, but bear in mind that you may need to do several searches and tweak them to get the info you want. There are also still some relatives I have not been able to track down yet. Good luck Helen.
