Hi All A plea from the colonies! I am trying to track my great grandparents' families back in Mother England. I agonise every day as to whether the names I see are family members who might have moved to another town or village. Having the county listed would help no end! My geography ain't that good when it comes to small villages and my eyesight ain't much better as I pore over maps till the early hours of the morning!! And as for my language!????! If you were researching locations such as Waihi in New Zealand you would find there are several and a county name would help to identify the location. Similarly England!@! Please spare a thought for those of us who are not locals! Thanks Marlene

Marlene A very valid point I think we tend to forget there are members world wide and not just in GB. Even in GB it would help as there are quite a few instances of places with the same name but in different counties. I will endevour to be vigilant. Pat

Thanks Malcolm - it's actually easier to look at a book style map to gauge likely distances for me...I do use multimap and the parish locator programme. Thanks Pat I do notice there are a lot more Canadian and those pesky Australians on site now. (I guess you know of the rivalry between Aust & NZ especially over sports teams, pavlovas et al!!) Back to the grind! Cheers Marlene
