Everything I tried has failed miserably so tonight I'm uninstalling and reinstalling it - a friend is ringing me to talk me through how to do it otherwise I won't know where to start. Maybe then the headaches will stop!!!!!!!!!! Mary

Its definitely the new cartridge - honest ! I've taken it out, put it back it, talked to it gently - shouted at it - even swore at it but still it won't perform ! Now my scanner won't scan from the operator panel either on the machine or on the computer screen. I have to put stuff into documents and then send it that way and the latest was a coloured phoro of a gravestone which seems to have been sent in black and white and is not something anyone would recognise ! Eeeeeeeeeeeek !!!!!!!!!!! Going mad here - technology is getting the better of me !!! Bring on the men in white coats !! Mary

Any more suggestions for Mary?

Uhm, don't shout at me but is there any chance you unwrapped the new cartridge, threw it away and reloaded the old one!!!? You wouldn't be the first. Are you missing the same colours as before?

Its really weird Colin - checking through the printer set up it should be in English - its all beyond me ! Maybe if I switch the whole thing off and give it a rest (it must be as tired as I am!) it just might forget todays problems and start afresh. Either that or I'll have to re-install it all over again. Phew !!! Thanks for your help anyway. Mary

Done that Colin - the problems still there I'm afraid. The instructions tell me after I've installed the cartridge to follow instructions on the controls of the printer - well, thats a joke, there weren't any to follow and in the view panel in foreign language (don't know how that happened) it just says '1 Copia 100% Normal'. Normal ?? It has to be joking ! This machine has a mind all its own and is determined to drive me bonkers ! Any ideas on what I do now I've aligned, cleaned etc. and everything is still coming out with grey text and where there should be any colour I've just got blue ? Mary

Hi mary, Have you clean the heads to your printer, if you go to start, settings, printers, then right click on your printer, is there an option to clean heads? if not then try turning the printer off and leave off for 5 mins then switch back, it should do a clean when you turn it back on. Hope this helps

Any of you computer buffs help me ?? I changed my ink cartridge yesterday, followed all the instructions and its just as if I'veleft the old one in! Its frustrating as I've just had a load of photos from newly found rellies in America and I was dying to print them out and they're just awful. I've got a Lexmark X85 Printer/scanner/copier connected to my laptop. There' nothing on the Troubleshooting page to cover this problem - what do I do before I take a hammer to it or literally tear my hair out ?????? Mary Brooke Please.......any solutions in idiot proof language - I'm new to all this hi tech stuff !
