Judith, I am looking for details of a marriage, William Ringrose Married Mary Lord at St Mary's 7th May 1804 what I want to know is if it tells you where William would be from also how old he is when he got married, would it also tell you who is parents were? Do you go to the record office there? Regards Sue..............

Sue, Most marriage entries at that time would tell you whether couple were 'of this parish' or if not would give name of parish; age will probably only be given if they were under 21 and needed parental consent. Parents' names weren't usually there, though often parents would witness marriage in which case signatures would be on register. However some vicars or clerks took delight in adding axtra snippets, some I came across in Suffolk cross referenced death, marriage and baptism entries so I could track my relative through:-) Afraid I don't have access to the Leicester office but why not put a request on the GC Record Office message board Good luck Judith
