From various sites Googled: "Several branches of the Ringrose family existed in Hull and the East Riding from at least the early seventeenth century including a Cottingham branch who owned Cottingham Grange in the nineteenth century and whose association with Cottingham's Independent chapel was longstanding. The Ringrose family also owned over 1000 acres and Sarum Manor House from 1870 to 1931. Their papers relate to Sarum Manor as well as the other three manors on the site of Baynard Castle. Most of the circa 500 items in the collection relate to the property of John Ringrose (d.1876) and his heirs." "Sea Gull built 1892, 1894 purchased from W. Ringrose, Hull-Amsterdam / Rotterdam, 1911 sold to Turkey, renamed Millet. 817 tons" "Irwell built 1854, 1872 purchased from J. Ringrose, Hull, 1881 sold to W. Reincke, Keitum, renamed Nordsee. 599 tons" Google ringrose hull to find lots of links.
