Maz If you look in Programs, click on your Norton Anti Virus, check in System Status it should read Auto Protect on Email Scanning on Script Blocking on Full System Scanning on or date (this will check your computer every week if on, not sure how to set this as my son did it) Don't forget to do updates everyday or at least every couple of days. Some of the newer viruses going around do indeed cause harm just by opening and reading an e-mail....regardless of whether or not there is an attachment. Even those blank e-mails, the ones with nothing in the body of the e-mail can be harmful. No e-mail should be opened if you don't know the sender.....all e-mail should be suspect, even when the sender is known, as you just never know with all these viruses being spread.....Make sure you have your virus program's options set up to check e-mail and just don't open mail from any unknown sender. I have found a way of checking without opening the email. If you are on the email it shows up blue (well it does on mine) BUT DO NOT OPEN Go to file, click on properties, go into details in the box that comes up Click on Message Souorce at the bottom of this box then you can scroll down and look at the message. Saved one or two emails that I would have deleted this way as I delete everything that doesn't look like its for me. But they are getting crafty in what they are putting in their subject headings. Hi Maggie, Sounds dodgy to me. If you don't know the sender then just delete it - better safe than sorry (although I don't think it can do any hardm with no attachment). Rick.

Just got an email from alice.saver@liber subject: PLEASE READ AND GET BACK URGENT MESSAGE, no attachment with it - do you think this is a virus? Maggie
